In Greek mythology, Chloris was a wood nymph associated with spring. According to the Roman poet Ovid, one spring she was seized by the god of the west wind, Zephyrus. He abducted her and made her his wife, transforming her into the goddess Flora, breathing out flowers in the process. Botticelli depicts this transformation in his painting Primavera, c. 1478, with the figures on the right hand side. I have depicted the same flowers as Botticelli (wild strawberries, violets, irises, cornflowers) just in a lot more abundance.
